Facade baskets

The desire for comfortable living in high-rise buildings in large cities sets the vector for the development of residential construction technologies. The improvement of living standards stimulates the expansion of horizons in the search for enhancements in both interior and exterior aspects. Modern developers’ designers pay special attention to creating exclusive attractiveness of the exterior and preserving it after commissioning. Unsystematic, uncontrolled installation of external units on the facade by residents is a factor that negatively affects the aesthetic appearance of the building. The result of these processes has been the introduction of the “ahead-of-time” technology, which allows:

• to have an individual standard place for the air conditioner;
• to preserve or even emphasize the facade’s distinctive features.

A conditioner’s basket on the facade>, or as it is also called when viewed on the lower floors – an anti-vandal basket. This product satisfied the technical requirements of design departments and contributed to the maximum convenience of installing air conditioners for owners.

At first glance, this basket looks like a protruding metal podium from the facade under the block with a vertical lattice. Technically, this design is a metal frame with a pair of parallel special brackets and a pair of transverse profiles with a front-mounted decorative panel.

Main characteristics of facade baskets:

In the manufacture of special facade structures that, on the one hand, serve a decorative function, and on the other hand, support specialized equipment at height, corresponding weight loads are taken into account using the most suitable anti-corrosion materials and fastening elements. The option of choosing brackets for different types of facades: wet or ventilated, with the possibility of attachment to various bases:

• reinforced concrete;
• brick;
• gas block;

while using appropriate fasteners. Our company produces both single (for 1 unit) and double facade baskets for air conditioners. The composition of a typical single basket (see Drawing No. 1):

2. bracket extender (pair), pos. 4, 5;
3. transverse omega-profile (pair);
4. thermal break pad (pair);
5. stainless steel bolt connections;

2.Decorative element:

1. decorative element (screen) pos. 9;
2. vertical angle (pair) pos. 1, 3;

Anti-corrosion protection of baskets for external units:

Wall bracket, bracket extender, and transverse omega-profiles have two-factor protection: galvanic zinc coating, powder coating, stainless steel bolt connections. The decorative screen is made of an aluminum composite panel, attached to the extenders with stainless steel and aluminum fasteners. The use of these materials ensures greater durability and has undeniable advantages both technically and visually.

Now let’s take a closer look at each of the elements that together form the facade basket.

Wall bracket: can have different configurations, with a perpendicular support plate (heel) with several holes for attachment to the facade at one end. At the other end, there are holes for connecting to the bracket extender. Metal thickness is 3 mm.

Bracket extender: has connecting holes with the wall bracket on one side and universal holes at the top for connection to transverse omega-profiles. On the other side, the decorative screen is attached frontally. Metal thickness is 3 mm.

Transverse omega-profile: is attached perpendicularly to the upper part of the bracket extender with two bolt connections on each side. Universal holes are present for convenient attachment of air conditioners of different sizes. Metal thickness is 1.5 mm.

Decorative element (screen): is made of a special facade material – an aluminum composite panel. The basic size of the frontal part is 1000×790 mm. The possibility of choosing narrower and wider side walls. The screen is attached to the vertical angles and at the same time to the extenders of the brackets with two through stainless steel bolts M6x20 mm and aluminum rivets. Vertical angles have a similar double anti-corrosion coating and dimensions of 30×30 mm, thickness 1.5 mm; Attachment: rivet (material – aluminum). Different types of patterns can be made by varying the perforation.

When ordering baskets for air conditioners from the manufacturer “New Century Plus” for the Kyiv region and beyond, the first stage is the production and delivery of the wall bracket to the site. The second stage is the production of the bracket extender, along with all the components, and their assembly into a finished product. Then delivery and installation to the already installed wall brackets.
